I just dyed my hair golden blonde and I'm LOVIN it, but not everyone feels the same way. I've even had some of my family get mad at me because they said I'm ashamed to be Black so that's why I'm doing it. But that's not the reason--I just love the color of it, regardless of the race it's associated with. In the long-run we're all human beings anyway. But as the question states, do you think Black people look cute with blonde hair, if so do you they'd be making a statement, or should we just leave it alone?
Blonde Hair on Black People? My honest opinion is that it depends on the complexion of the person, as well as the particular blonde shade he/she uses. Platinum blonde is not gonna look good on all black people...then again, dirty blonde won't look good on all of us, either. You've got to pick a shade that works well with your skin color.
No, those of us who choose to highlight, or color our hair aren't tryin' to be white. I'm curious to know whether or not some of your family who got mad have a perm, or wear weave and wigs. If so, are they trying to be white, because they're not working with the natural naps? I'm sure they'll say no.
All that aside, however, it all boils down to what that individual is feelin' for themselves. If you happen to love your current hair color, then girl, enjoy it! Don't bog yourself down in the eternal stench of other's thoughts and feelings. You be you. Realize that a lot of the time, people complain and scrutinize not because of the reasons they state....it's out of jealousy. ;) Yep, I said it!

Blonde Hair on Black People? When you change so much it takes awhile for everyone to get used to you that way. some take longer than others. Give them time to adjust. I went from blonde to a deep red-WOW it took me longer to adjust(when I looked in the mirror) but after several months I loved it!!!!I had more compliments with the shade of red than any other color. I am blonde again but miss it. I will return to the red this fall I think. No one has to like your hair but YOU.

I would say that even concerning Mexican Americans (by the way I am). It is very tacky in my opinion. It is along the same lines of middle aged women wearing tight clothing and exposing their muffin tops and extra rolls and camel toe. Don't mean to be offensive, but you wanted to know the truth. I would suggest highlights on black hair. I've seen some on some women and it is VERY becoming. In every thing in life, moderation is the key.

I am black, and it does bother sometimes that some black people are ashamed to have the texture or color hair that they have. I think that comes from a long line of blacks being told that they weren't beautiful the way they are... and that thinking is not going to be changed over night.
But besides that, you might want blue or pink hair one day... and I wouldn't think that is because you are ashamed of being black... you just want a change.
As far as the skin tone goes... I think that people of all skin tones can pull off the blonde look. There are black people with naturally blonde hair... I'm sure you've seen that. I'm not one of them, but I have a couple of member of my family with natuarally sandy blonde hair. The key is finding the right shade of blonde. Platinum, golden, strawberry, honey...etc.

Blonde Hair on Black People? The only person ive seen that it looks good on is Tyra Banks. Her hair color is beautiful on her, but its more of a light brown with blond highlights. Gold just doesnt look good in my opinion. But its your head.

I personally think people usually look best with hair color that is not to far off from their natural color, however I think you should wear your hair the way you like it most and don't worry about what anyone else thinks.
