Dyed my hair from blonde to medium brown and am not liking it...?

I just dyed my hair earlier today from blonde highlights on blonde to a very dark brown... it looks almost black! I bought the dye myself from Sallys and it said Medium Brown so I wasnt too worried, but now it looks black and I know its still the first day and that its a shock...but I really wanted a medium brown, like Jennifer Love Hewitts color, instead it looks like ashlee simpsons when she had blackhair...

anyway... I dont want to go to a hair salon bc I dont have the money at the moment (im a college student!!) and i dont really want to put anything else in my hair for some time...

do you think if i keep washing it a ton it will just fade some? I already washed it three times today and it doesnt seem to have faded much...

Any ideas without going to a hair salon or dying it again?

I have a conditioner that is for blonde hair that I would use once a week to keep the brassiness out, and i used that.. do u think that can help to lighten it?

Please any ideas will be apreciated :)

the safer way is to go to a salon, but you could try to bleach it a little

Don't mess with it anymore or you could do real damage to your hair. It will fade over time, so if you can live with it, save a few nickels (no more cokes, etc) until you can get enough money to go to a local beauty school to have them tame the color down a bit. A beauty school is cheaper and they have supervisors who don't allow the students to harm your hair. Good luck, and next time, please, save those nickels and have the professional do it. Blonde is too fragile to mess with. Have fun, and don't fret. The conditioner won't do any good by the way; it conditions, not strips the hair, and you will have a mess if you try different products. ASK THE PROFESSIONALS.

The only thing I can think of is to re-dye it or go to the salon. Washing it may help, but it will not complletely fade. Hope I could help
