Yes, my roots are darker than the rest of my hair and so is the layer underneath, towards my neck.

When I was smaller my hair was almost bleached blonde it was very light. But over the years it got darker and darker and in the winter it looks almost completely brown and in the summer it gets blonder with some very light streaks in it due to the sun bleaching it. I don't color my hair at all and never have.

I'm a dirty blonde...But yeah you're roots would be darker. When its the summer, your hair gets lighter, then as it gets to be winter, it darkens up.

Yes, they come in a shade or two darker because the sun hasn't gotten a chance to lighten it.

i have pretty light blonde hair, and my roots are a little bit darker, but not like, drastically darker. it may be because if you're in the sun a lot, your hair will lighten, and the light doesn't hit that part of your hair.
