Changing my dyed blonde hair light brown??

I have been dying my natural dark brown hair blonde now for many years. It always has a golden/ginger tint to the root that i cant avoid as my natural colour has loads of red in it. The ends of my hair now are really dry and in poor condition. I went to a salon to try and achieve a natural blonde colour and my roots went ginger. I have decided the colour i actually want is really light brown/dark blonde with blonde highlights. Is this possible? I dont want any ginger at all...it has been haunting me for years!! What is the best way to achieve the colour i want without damaging my hair further?

It is possible but i would advise you to have it done professionally. Go to a salon explain what you want and ask them to do a strand test first. This involves cutting a strand of hair from an inconspicuous area and getting them to tint it in your choice of colour. You can then see if it is really the colour you want. It will also show if your hair will withstand a further chemical treatment. A good salon will do this for you with no charge.

Making it blond proberly meant using bleach which is not good for the hair. You are lucky it dident go green like ann of greengables lol. You need to go to the hairdresses and get professional assistance. Its worth the extra to look how you want. But dont worry about the ginger, people pay a lot to go that colour lol
