Getting my dark hair to blonde hair?

I have dyed my hair a lot .. and back in the summer it was light blonde with pretty highlights and it was GORGEOUS!! but sometimes i get stir crazy with my hair and dye it. its a light brown right now, but i would like to dye it blonde without all the $$. Is there any box color that would help me do this, like born blonde? I was wondering also, people have told me to bleach it, then dye it a darker blonde. I am scared that the bleach will ruin my hair! Help! SHould i get highlights? And are there any box highlights that work and dont come out orange that you reccomend? Thanks!!

ok u have done wayyyyy to much damage already u need to go to a professional and its going to be a process ur going to have to start dark and work ur way up to blonde if u dont do the right process ur hair will turn red and u dont want that u have to go professional its costly but worth it trust me home dyes fry ur hair not good

since it's a light brown, an at home hi-lighting kit should work just fine (if it were darker it would turn orange). maybe you should just start with lots of blonde highlights so it looks overall blonde but it's not too drastic. it would be better than dying the whole thing so it looks like a big sheet of blonde cuz that loooks really unnatural.(unless thats the look you want?)anyways try frost n glow, it works well on light hair, just make sure to leave it in for long enough or it will be brassy. after that use a purple shampoo once a week, it tones blonde hair.

Your hair seems to be a nice color. If you want to dye dye it blonde, just stay natural. Geta natural color and then some subtal highlights. STAY AWAY FROM THE BLEACHING! My friend bleached her hair and it is really damaged.

Well, my first piece of advise is don't dye it so much!!! It could ruin your hair. What others do is they get a color in the middle and dye it that first, and then the color they want it to be becuase they don't want to do such a dramatic change, because it might not turn out well. I've never dyed my hair or got highlights in, because it doesn't need to be, so I can't give you advise from experience, but this is what others told me, so I hope it helps. I can't help you with highlights, because I don't know anything about them. Sorry.

If you are going darker, dyes alone will work. But if you are wanting to go lighter, you have to strip the old color first. If you don't want to go to a professional and spend big bucks, I would recommend you pay a visit to your local Sally Beauty Supply. They can give you instructions, and sell you the stuff to do it.
