Have peroxide blonde hair-want to dye it a natural blonde colour-help?

im a natural dark blonde, but have dyed my hair alot over the past couple of years.i dyed it platinum using schwarzhkopf live last year, then in the winter went dark brown (which at first went horribly wrong, but then it was ok)then a couple of months a go i wanted to be blonde again so i used the schwarzkopf because i'd used it before.this proved difficult as it just kept going coppery and brassy but bright at the roots.i managed to get it to an ok platinum blonde colour but its starting to get a brassy tint again.have just bought a garnier natural light blonde dye but worried about doing it- should i get my hair stripped first or just dye it using this?

Ive tried to warn people about over coloring their hair....Your going to wind up with different colors from roots to shaft to ends, if you do it yourself..You see, there are steps to take when doing a color correction..Thats what your dealing with. the old color needs to be removed before puting the color you want on...putting color over color will only make it worse mess than when you started...all that money wasted...then at wits end wind up going to a salon to get that fixed...Please listen and go to a reputable salon who has a experienced colorist on duty and get the color you have wished for....

Most blonde colorants will cover up brassy overtones. Go ahead and try the Garnier. It may take a couple of applications to get just the right colour, but space them about a week apart. Back when I was experimenting with my hair colour (a couple of years ago), I had an "unfortunate incident" where my hair went orange (light). I went ahead and put the blonde colourant in my hair, and it took the nasty orange right away.

And please make sure to use a lot of good conditioner to help repair the damage that all this colouring is doing to your hair.

DO NOT try dying it yourself again. I learned the hard way. I had dyed my hair myself many times (and many different colors) a few years ago, and at one point I had gone blonde (I am naturally a brunette) but decided I wanted to change to auburn.

Because my hair had been dyed so many times, and I had put so much peroxide into it, it sucked up the auburn color like a sponge (for lack of a better word), which resulted in me having orange, Bozo the Clown-like hair. I had to get it stripped several times over the course of 1 salon visit just to get all of the color out, before it could be dyed back to a more natural brown.

Even though you are going from platinum blonde to a more natural blonde, it just seems that you've done so much with your hair you'd be in better hands getting it stripped and then re-done professionally. At the very least, you should go in for a consult and see what the stylist things.

One important thing I learned from all of this is that the chemicals in the dyes/colors salons use are much different from the chemicals used in do-it-yourself boxes, and MUCH better for your hair. There's nothing wrong with dying it yourself, but after a certain point you might want to get a professional to prevent what could turn into a disastrous dye job.

Get it stripped, or it's gonna just turn green!!

If I were you I'd stop dying my hair so much unless you want to go bald by the time you are 22.
