I have really long straight black hair and caramel skin- yeah i am alright.... :) My friend has pale skin/blonde hair and recently dyed it red- still gorgeous.... Anyway we were talking about how Blonde hair can make an average/ ugly person look more attractive. In general we agreed that if an ugly person has dark hair and then changes to Blonde they always look better. I know there have been studies done to show society sees blondes as powerful, and because gold is yellow they are also seen as being more wealthy, also Blonde hair makes you look younger. I could never be blonde because I am spanish/swedish and it would look weird with my dark skin....

being a blond doesn't necessarily mean you become beautiful just like that. I've seen many blonds that looked horrible and other brunettes or black haired girls who look simply gorgeous.

the whole point of me saying this is that being pretty doesn't necessarily mean be blond. it's how you carry it that matters. i have been blond before even with my tanned skin color and yes people do look your way but its either they haven't seen as may blonds (i.e. countries with small no. of blonds), or they have never seen you as a blond. and the same thing happen when i was a brunette and as a black haired girl - my natural hair color.

i agree with what you said, and i also thing that light colors make people feel better in some way that is why many people may think that blond is more attractive and i can understand that. but ultimately, it is how confident you are in yourself that you can pull anything off that makes people attractive.

there are also elements of marketing involved here. we see in tvs, movies, other media and even cliches like "blonds have more fun". and people being people follow this thought. it's all about how you sell the product. if the notion of being black haired was more popular over being blond, people will zone in on that. it is just like fashion trends... wait it is a fashion trend. :)

so if you feel like a ray of blond sunshine, or just emo-tastic, then go with the flow. it never hurts to try something new. and if you don't like it, you can always change it, or do what Britney did. :D (love her!)

btw, i wasn't blond as in Marilyn or Katherine heigl blond. I was more like Jessica Alba blond in fantastic 4, streaks of strawberry blond and hazel nut brown. and i do agree that being marilyn blond with dark skin color is just weird! ;)

No, I happen to like men with dark hair and blue eyes or auburn hair and green eyes. Just because you're blonde haired blued eyed doesn't make you great.

No! And the blonde hair myth is just that a myth. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and hair color isn't the only sign of beauty . trust me. Oh and I am a brunette and caramel complected also and think, no I know I am beautiful.And would'nt change my haircolor for anything. Well, maybe red highlights but never blonde.

Blonde hair is dumb looking it has limitations on people... and it personify you dumb too. i like people dark complexions to add a little color to there hair maybe streak's of red, and maybe orange? then braid them with natural color to highlight...

Hair color nowaday is like an accessory, and I don't always think that people now how to accessorize. Your natural hair already has the best color and highlights for you. Maybe just a new hairstyle to frame your face would be good. I have had a few good haircuts that make all the difference. Try it and see.

Not necessarily. If you have caramel skin, your skin would be classified as warm. There are shades of blonde that compliment this, such as a pale, Gwen Stefani blond, but that could be damaging to your dark hair.
